Entry-Level Accountant

Our client, a company involved in the technology and development of drugs and consumer health products, is currently looking for an entry-level Accountant for a contract position expected to last 4-months, with a possibility of being extended. The position is located in Winchester, KY.

Pay: $19.00-$20.00/hr

 

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Tracks and evaluates capital projects through their conversion to fixed assets.
  • Performs daily Accounts Receivable duties.
  • Monitors customer payments and reports results to site Management.
  • Responsible for processing and maintaining records of the local site Accounts Payable.
  • Prepares month end journal entries as well as completing Balance Sheet / P&L reconciliations.
  • Participates in completing Reporting packages.
  • Ensures SOX related activities are conducted according to documentation and works with the site and corporate as required in the review and testing of SOX related processes.
  • Works with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Serves as a resource in all aspects of accounting.
  • Maintain and track fixed assets and capital projects; record description, value, location, and other pertinent information for each item; conduct periodic inventories to keep records current and ensure that equipment is properly maintained.
  • Process accounts receivables and communicates with Shared Service Center regarding outstanding receivables current standing by customers.
  • Special projects as required to provide management with accurate and timely reports.
  • Perform sales analysis providing management with reports comparing actual sales to forecast sales by customer and product.
  • Other duties as assigned, may include analyzing past and present financial operations and estimates future revenues and expenditures to prepare budget or forecast; analyzing records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses, using company’s IT systems.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, obtaining proper approvals, serve as primary contact for AP.
  • Shared Service Center in the processing and maintaining of the site’s Payables.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a directly related field
  • 1-2 years of general accounting experience preferred
  • Principles and practices of accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Account Receivables and Account Payables
  • Accounts Receivable proficiency
  • Knowledge of various computer software programs to include: Microsoft Excel, Word, Accounting, Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
