Job Description

This position is located in Newark, NY. The role of Quality Inspector will be to perform routine checks, tests, gauging, and inspection of materials, goods in process, and finished goods. This is a 90 day, temp-to-hire position with excellent benefits when hired. The schedule is 7:00AM-3:30PM, Monday through Friday. Initial pay rate is $12-$15, depending on experience.  

- Conduct and monitor inspections and documentation at all stages
- Perform mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials and components
- Perform routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods
- Compare results with company quality standards
- Document and report inspection findings and results
- Monitor corrective actions to inspection findings
- Document information in various databases and other internal programs
- Log the assembly non-conformities and generate a reports (NCR)
- Input and perform trending of key inspection process metrics
- Post and maintain forms and charts of inspection data and quality levels
- Work with personnel to develop inspection criteria and resolve inspection questions
- Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment
- Notify supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits
- Notify supervisor when major incidents of poor quality are noted
- Make recommendations on disposition of questionable products
- May act as quality control clerk, maintaining all quality records for the facility


- High school or technical school education or equivalent
- Must have at least intermediate math skills
- At least 1 year of precision inspection
- Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment
- Familiar with ISO-9001 or similar Quality Systems
- Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and detail oriented
- Familiar with word processing, spreadsheets and other basic computer skills
- Ability to mentor and direct the work of others
- Considerable mental and visual effort
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
