Manufacturing Engineer Position Available (Direct Hire) - Clanton, AL

Kelly Services is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for one of their top automotive manufacturing clients in the Clanton, AL area.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the development and improvement of the manufacturing processes through the review of manufacturing processes and the product produced.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .

  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

  • Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.

  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide assistance in Customer Quoting

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an automotive industry background.

  • Experience in testing products to meet performance and specifications and product research and development a plus.

  • Previous supervisor experience, excellent leadership skills and the ability to actively lead and/or participate in a fact based, cross -functional teamwork environment desired.

  • Project Management skills and New Product Introduction experience desired.

  • Computer Software and training with 3D CAD (Catia V5, Solidworks, ACAD), CAD/CAM Circuit Design, SPC, DOE, and Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word. Working knowledge of Publisher and Access a plus.

  • Knowledgeable of production machinery and processes, strong mechanical and metallurgy aptitudes.

  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills with the ability to communicate to diverse audiences.
