Analytical Bioscientist – Lenoir, NC, DIRECT HIRE

Kelly Services is currently seeking an Analytical Bioscientist for a Direct Hire opportunity with one of our top clients in Lenoir, NC.

As an analytical bioscientist placed with Kelly Services As part of the Manufacturing, Science, and Technology team - which strives to improve the compliance, efficiency, and strategic position of the site- the Protein Analytics Lab is responsible for allergenic extract characterization and analysis. 

The lab evaluates protein and allergen composition and content to ensure quality, consistency, and bio-equivalency for commercial, contract, and developmental products and activities.


Job Requirements:

This position requires the following minimum education and experience level: 

  • MS or PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, immunology, biology or related life science
  • 2+ years of biochemical laboratory experience with a strong background in immunoassay and/or protein chemistry techniques. 
  • Method validation, tech transfer experience, and/or assay troubleshooting experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements highly desirable.


Additional Job Responsibilities:


  • Execute Bradford, SDS-PAGE and Immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, Western Blot, WesTM capillary nanotechnology) based on Standard Operating Procedures; troubleshoot and optimize protein and immunochemistry assays.
  • Lead and execute characterization studies of allergenic extracts identifying major and minor allergens, and
  • Implement monitoring programs for batch to batch consistency.
  • Support allergenic extract, excipient, and drug product formulation development and process characterization using Quality by Design approach and performing various analytical techniques.
  • Support routine manufacturing, product OOS/compliant investigations, process/product development activities, validation activities and regulatory filings by performing various analytical techniques.
  • Develop and implement new allergen-related characterization techniques for the site i.e. Dot/Slot Blot, Zymography, and IEF with Immunoblot.
  • Interpret and present results in data summaries, technical reports, presentations to management and cross-functional units, and/or poster presentations for AAAAI and/or APMA.
  • Prioritize, plan and execute daily assays to meet project and production deadlines for different stakeholders (Manufacturing and client/contract testing).
