Pilot Plant Technician –
This pilot plant technician role utilizes process knowledge and operations experience to safely and proficiently operate a pilot plant for process evaluation and production of new products in the process scale-up and implementation group.
This pilot plant facility primarily supports projects from the Oil Gas, Polyurethanes, and Industrial Solutions businesses.
The role includes scheduling, planning, and operations related activities including performing instructions per test plans, maintaining run sheets, logging data, and correcting, maintaining, and building process equipment as needed.
Projects will typically change on a weekly basis.
A good candidate will demonstrate a high degree of competence in operational troubleshooting and data analysis.
Possible Responsibilities Include: Developing and following operation procedures and operating discipline to ensure safe, sustained, and efficient operation of the pilot plant facility.
Operate and perform field checks on process equipment.
Monitor and record process conditions and equipment through field checks and the process control system.
Perform process upset/crisis response activities as required in a safe manner.
Utilize and demonstrate process knowledge and skills to make improvements in pilot plant performance and operating discipline.
This includes identifying and implementing improved job procedures, work processes, policies, and unit operations.
Monitor, collect, and record plant performance metrics for each project.
Records activities, process upsets, and other operational notes in data books.
Fully engaged in block and unit safety programs and training Forklift operation.
2+ years relevant Pilot Plant/Lab experience Preferred
