Payroll Clerk

Job Description

We are seeking a Payroll Clerk who will be under general the general supervision of the Human Resources Director. The Payroll Clerk performs all activities necessary to process weekly payroll for both labor and administrative groups for approximately 300 employees. Responsibilities include preparation, maintenance and filing of mandatory payroll reports and related records, prepare accounting transactions, document and update procedures, and work closely with accounting staff to provide payroll information to generate periodic reports for management.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist weekly payroll processing
Covers all aspects of payroll processing and distribution for local harvesting and trucking operations
Process payroll for all operations
Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
Verify attendance, hours worked, pay adjustments, and post information into designated records.
Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information in order to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
Compute wages and deductions based on applicable state and federal wage order guidelines.
Keep informed about changes in payroll tax and deduction laws that apply to payroll process.
Unemployment claims wage summary reporting.
Review and ensure health insurance and cafeteria payroll deductions are accurate.
Review accuracy of PSL availability and payment


Requirements

Must have advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Advanced Filters, Nested Formulas, V-Lookup, Text Formulas, Cell Formulas, Some knowledge of VBA, If-What-Analysis, Etc.).
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have strong organizational skills, time management and must be project oriented (Mandatory).
