Entry Level Equipment Engineer

Kelly Services is actively seeking an Entry Level Equipment Engineer for Nissan at their Smyrna, TN location.

Nissan is currently seeking a dynamic individual for a Trim New Model Engineer at our Smyrna, TN automotive manufacturing facility.

The Equipment Engineer provides the following during the New Model Programs:

  • Write equipment specifications by incorporating lessons learned from previous equipment experiences
  • Ensure timely installation of equipment to meet the major milestones related to the vehicle development process.
  • Issue RFQs and purchase requests to initiate the purchasing process.
  • Generate reports to track project management (progress and control) and document project results for management.
  • Understand internal/external safety and ergonomic guidelines.
  • Coordinate and lead buyoff of capital equipment at the equipment supplier.
  • Coordinate and lead the installation of the capital equipment with contractors, suppliers, and in-house stakeholders.
  • Ensure forecasted cash flow associated with receipt of equipment invoices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Job Knowledge and Skill:  In-depth understanding of automotive technology, product knowledge, Trim and Chassis-related processes and equipment, related information systems, PQ and related legal processes.  Basic understanding of design, development production and processes.
  • Experience:  One or more years of directly related professional-level Engineering experience.
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering discipline.
  • Computer Skills:  Knowledge of Microsoft Office and mainframe applications.
  • Travel:  Occasional day or overnight travel required.  Travel abroad when assigned to coordinate a major program
