Process Development Engineer

Title: Process Development Engineer

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Positions Available: 3

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working within a cross functional team to execute various tasks within the manufacturing transfer process.
  • Supporting the building of project schedules
  • Working with current suppliers to understand how components and sub-assemblies are manufactured in order to assist in the transfer of manufacturing process to new suppliers.
  • Components/manufacturing process to be transferred requiring contractors to support planning, testing, validation work in the following areas: PCB boards, injection molding, manual assembly, electrical design, floor layout.
  • Project is still in the M&A phase; due to the sensitive nature of the work, the details we can share about the project are limited at this point the project is still in the supplier selection process and a lot of scoping work still needs to be done.
  • This project will involve working with components and materials such as Sheet Metal, electronics, Rubber Seals, Pumps, Etc.
  • All Candidates with an Industrial Engineering background with experience in Electronics will be helpful.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to Travel Domestically and possible International.
  • Top 3 Must Haves: Good Communicator; Organized and Structured; Self-Starter with some experience in the PPAP process.
  • Top 3 Nice To Haves: Good attention to detail; Knowing processes such as electrical or and plastic injection molding would be of benefit; Experience in Manufacturing Transfers or any supplier activities would be of benefit but not essential.
  • Additional nice to haves: Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
  • Experience in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP and PPAP generation associated with product transfers and launches.
  • Experience in Reviewing and approval of validation documentation.

 

Education / Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
