Director – Business Intelligence, 80% remote (W2, direct hire, no C2C, no visa sponsorship or transfer)

 

Overview: Kelly Services® is looking for a talented Business Intelligence Director to lead our client’s enterprise data team.  In this role, you will own the Data Governance strategy, Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) strategy, and all things related to data residing in the EDW.  We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of creating and implementing data-driven strategies within a global organization.  The Business Intelligence Director requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the business functions and departments. Translates strategic requirements into a usable enterprise information architecture, which may include an enterprise data model, data marts, associated meta-model, common business vocabulary, ontologies and taxonomies to be used to guide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency of information assets across the application portfolio. Develops a metadata management and repository strategy to manage all enterprise information architecture project artifacts. Ensures existing data/information assets are identified, stewarded and leveraged across the enterprise. Requires an understanding of emerging regulatory issues (e.g., consumer privacy laws, outsourced data and specific industry guidelines such as HIPAA, GPDR) to develop internal and external checks and controls to ensure proper governance, security and quality of information assets.  The Business Intelligence Director acts as the subject matter expert within the organization and will liaise with technical staff, directors, global development team, and operational managers to ensure data goals and objectives are met.

Required Experience and Skills:

 

  • 10+ years of IT work experience including database management systems, data warehouse development, data analytics and business intelligence
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • 10+ years of experience with SSRS, SSAS, SSIS
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the various legislative acts and how they impact data (HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Knowledge of data integration tools
  • Thorough understanding of project management and SDLC methodologies
  • Ability to determine long term directions, industry trends, and how they relate to the organizational needs
  • Must be able to initiate change and be able to communicate effectively
  • Knowledgeable in process improvement and metrics development
  • Experience with common Digital analytics and BI software packages 
  • Data architecture and knowledge of developing visualizations
  • Experience with Azure Data Lakes an advantage
  • Experience with Azure SQL stack an advantage
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

 

 

Although candidates local or willing to relocate to Louisville, KY are preferred, this position offers the opportunity to work remotely up to 80% of the time, as long as candidates are able to travel to the Louisville, KY area on occasion.
