HR Administrator

Our client, a German multinational financial services company, is currently looking for an HR Administrator for a contract position expected to last until the end of the year, with a possibility of being extended or going perm. This position is located in Chicago, IL.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00/hr


Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Representation - in support of HR BP team
    • Represent the business to the rest of the HR community. Collaborate on programs and initiatives by providing an organization-specific perspective.
    • Assess HR implications of the business strategy, identify opportunities to further meet business needs, and design solutions.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with senior managers in order to drive the execution of HR programs.
  • Business Consultation - in support of HR BP team
    • Act as first line of contact for employees and managers. Play an active role in business activities, understand local business context, issues and challenges to provide specific advice to business managers.
    • Develop resourcing strategies to support the business. Work with managers to identify future people requirements and act upon
  • HR Processes - in support of HR BP team
    • Represent the full spectrum of HR programs and processes to the business.
    • Consult and support business in implementation of HR processes in respective business area (e.g., rewards, performance, grading, talent, development, recruiting, etc.)
    • Consult business on HR policies and processes in the region (e.g., annual comp/performance reviews)
    • Lead recruitment process of all positions in respective business area
  • Projects & Initiatives - in support of HR BP team
    • Support implementation of regional as well as global projects and initiatives in business area, as necessary.
    • Champion business change and continuous improvement by proactively engaging with business managers.
  • Operational Effectiveness - in support of HR BP team
    • Act as owner of all documentation and data for business area.
    • Maintain relevant documentation (e.g., contracts, forms, supporting documents) and assure the completeness/accuracy of all data. Ensure all data entry is completed on time and according to standards/guidelines.
    • Generate reports or provide data as required, both for the business as well as within HR



  • Bachelor Degree: Bachelor / Master degree (or equivalent) in related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years: Previous experience in an administrator role, preferably in HR or other central function
  • Ideal experience, though not required: Experience working in a matrix and virtual team environment supporting multiple locations
  • Ideal experience, though not required: Experience as HR generalist, preferably in a global organization
  • Knowledge of local/regional employment law
  • Technical expertise in at least 1 HR topic (e.g., compensation, talent management, recruiting)
  • Basic: Customer and relationship management: Ability to maintain and build relationships with customers
  • Basic: Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate, often in difficult situations, and steer discussions to a desired end
  • Basic: Communication & presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally
  • Basic: Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., calculations, multiple process steps, conflicting information, etc..)
