Seeking a Supply Chain Analyst in downtown Houston, TX for an immediate career opportunity with a leading, multi-national energy infrastructure corporation.

 

OVERVIEW:

Our client’s Supply Chain team is currently evolving to meet the needs of their growing business by expanding their presence in Houston, TX to support contracts for projects. They are seeking a meticulous Business Analyst who has knowledge and experience to provide accurate and timely analytical support to various departments within Supply Chain Management. This individual needs to have the proven skills, competencies and capacity to collect/analyze information, and provide objective recommendations based upon historical data and trending information.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aggregate requirements across the corporation and segment by material and services as applicable
  • Analyze, identify and upgrade metrics to facilitate delivery of demand forecasts for future project implementation programs
  • Analyze trends and dynamics of supply markets including supplier capacity, identification and assessment of market risks, determination of trends and dynamics of market business environment
  • Assure and maintain data integrity on all inputs
  • Collect, compile, normalize data, and format/present in such a manner that it can be easily interpreted
  • Communicate market updates/trends and relating the implications of economic conditions and forecasts to SC Single Point of Contact (SPOC)
  • Communicate specific Demand Planning requirements, solicit demand planning information and analyze it
  • Design new metrics and prepare reports to monitor forecast or evaluations accurately
  • Develop and execute analysis on the most complicated, strategic and highest risk category (s)/portfolios and or assigned spend items
  • Develop and execute process to collect accurate, timely, relevant demand forecast information and analysis for materials and services
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations, in support of key SC stakeholders, that clearly articulate analytical findings and recommendations as required
  • Evaluate alternative buy scenarios with market information
  • Evaluate challenges in meeting demand, identify supply risks
  • Identify, gather and analyze various spend data from internal and external data sources and manage spend database including spend value
  • Leverage all available data sources – finance, purchasing, engineering, operations, suppliers, etc., and historical analyses to support SC
  • Manage statistical accuracy of current and future forecasts and make adjustments accordingly
  • Perform detailed analysis to understand the spend, demand, market trends, cost drivers, suppliers, lessons learned and best practices pertaining to any service or good or spend
  • Provide input to value propositions and sourcing options leveraging various techniques (e.g. TCO modelling, cost modelling)
  • Review historical forecast vs actual spend data to validate demand plans
  • Work with and build strong relationships with Business Unit (BU) stakeholders to gather accurate and reliable data to create demand forecasts
  • Work with key suppliers and external parties to develop an understanding of the marketplace pertaining to the category or project portfolio

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent
  • At least 6 years of Supply Chain Business Analyst experience, cost engineering and/or data science
  • A designation in a Supply Chain Management program a strong asset
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, project management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, people management skills and financial acumen are a requirement
  • Understanding and ability to apply Supply Chain and Category Management objectives and processes
  • Strong analytic, statistical modeling, and projection skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects
  • Strong listening, interpersonal, and influencing skills to engage Supply Chain and Business Units

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within category management will be considered a strong asset
  • Experience within the oil and gas, pipeline, or power industries
  • Experience with relevant SAP/Ariba modules a strong asset
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to drive consensus between stake holders with differing opinions
  • Experience in SharePoint and Microsoft Power BI is strongly preferred
  • Field related experience will be considered an asset

This is a 1-year contract opportunity with the opportunity to extend and/or become permanent.

Full-time 40 hour a work position, Monday—Friday
