IT Architect (Remote)- Ridgefield, CT

Kelly Services is seeking an IT Functional Architect for a leading pharmaceutical company located in Ridgefield, CT.

Pay rate: $70 - $77 .85 per hour (Open for discussion)

Type: W2 Contract only

Length: 5 months



functional architect designs application system to streamline business processes and meet the needs of a business. A functional architect ensures the entire application architecture (business, integration, information and technical) aligns with BI Technology Standards Standards / Technology within BI Target Application Landscape.   Scope includes both in-house developed and SAAS (Softwares as a Service) applications.

Work will be completed remotely, with occasional schedule onsite meetings.  Time flexibility is also preferred as some assignments may require meetings in European Time Zones.

  • Ensure the creation of a technology roadmaps, based on a clear understanding of business capability requirements integrating  technology and industry drivers and support the transition from the ‘as-is’ to the ‘to-be’ application landscape in order to deliver scalable and futureproof IT solutions.
  • Provide application and information architecture support to projects and initiatives, including vendor and solution assessments, information model definition, integration management consulting and review.
  • Ensure that Boehringer Ingelheim architectural governance is maintained through the review and approval of all demands for new architecture (application, information & technology) within the IT Target Application Landscape.
  • Maintain the accuracy of architecture related data captured in the application-planning repository.
  • Obtain and utilize a detailed understanding of the business processes and form a close relationship with the key business stakeholders, e.g. Capability Owners.
  • Serve as an advisor and sounding board to Line Management, Project Managers and Solution Architects for the areas of Marketing, Medical and Digital Health technologies, processes and standards.


  • Multiple years of experience in an IT technical role with a broad technology mind-set and knowledge
  • Hands on experience on web and mobile technologies, cloud services, large-scale enterprise applications, APIs, container, microservices
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Working experience in product teams and / or in a DevOps environment
  • Experience with business process, information, and technology modeling (TOGAF, UML)
  • Experience in Integration Design / Archhitecture
  • Experience in SCRUM, Agile Hybrid or Kanban Frameworks
  • Experience in developing medical apps/devices
  • Excellent communication skills in English on a professional level (verbal and written)
  • Experience in the Atlassian Stack (Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket, etc)  
  • Experience in CAPRY  


  • Master´s degree in Information Technology or equivalent with long-term years of relevant (architecture) work experience
