Associate Scientist - R&D / Oncology, San Diego, CA

Be the one to join our top client's Oncogenesis program, where the successful candidate will help identify and validate novel targets in a variety of oncology indications used to further action studies. Long-term contract with pay rate flexible depending on experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, execute, and trouble shoot experiments and be able to analyze and interpret data produced.
  • Presentation of data in team and department level meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree (MS) with industry experience OR Bachelor s degree with at least 4 years industry experience is acceptable.
  • The primary skills should include:
    • Highly proficient in cell biology techniques including expanding and characterizing cancer cell lines for screening purposes, transfection, cell based phenotypic screening.
    • siRNA / shRNA / CRSPR knockdown studies.
    • Protein expression analysis such as western blotting, ELISA, and WES.
    • Molecular biology techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, and gene expression assays.
  • The desire and ability to learn new techniques quickly including new equipment and analysis software.
  • Prior experience in drug discovery and / or high throughput screening is a plus.
