This is a 1-year contract position with a Global Oil & Gas Corporation located in Spring, Texas.




Seeking a Search Marketing leader who can expertly guide Marketing teams in various markets worldwide to quickly capture value. The Search Marketing Strategist will provide strategic consulting as part of the global Digital Services organization, supporting both Fuels and Lubricants (F&L) Value Chains (VCs). The Digital Services Group acts as a center of excellence that is focused on building organizational capabilities to enable market delivery of multi-channel digitally-enabled customer interactions.


The Search Marketing Strategist will oversee an organic and a paid search specialist, and has an overall responsibility to ensure key markets’ Search Marketing efforts are effective and drive results. Responsible for thought leadership and emerging search trends – as well as the strategy, oversight and executional management of paid, earned and owned media for F&L.


A successful Search Marketing Strategist can flex between tactics and strategy with ease. He or she is customer-focused and will have successfully led Search Marketing teams in an agency setting or at large matrixed organizations.  He or she will also have a proven ability to identify opportunities, lead strategic projects, influence the business and communicate effectively with Marketers across the world, Marketing leadership, business decision makers, agency partners and other stakeholders. The Search Marketing Specialist reports directly to the Global Digital Services Manager.





Objective: Define approach for optimal Search performance

Objective: Activate SEO, SEM activities via agency partner

  • Participate in agency RFP from Search POV
  • Provide guidance from Search POV in leveraging EM license of Google Marketing Platform
  • Participate in selection of SEO and SEM specialists
  • Define Search Marketing processes with BUs, outline governance, write SOWs to help BUs, outline MOC plan, conduct research, emerging technology leadership
  • Conduct research, vet agency recommendations/reports, work directly with agencies on behalf of BUs to capitalize on ongoing immediate (daily) opportunities
  • Consider tools to support, evolution of search & future needs of search team (ad tech stack study)
  • Identify and implement technology/automation improvements




  • Self-starting team player who can enthusiastically influence various stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of SEO, SEM
  • Creating keyword strategy, including keyword list development, research and keyword management
  • In-depth experience with SEO, SEM tools & technologies
  • Research, and editorial skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • B2B and B2C marketing skills
  • Familiarity with customer experience, digital marketing, social media, content and paid media tactics
  • High level of independence and efficiency with very good organization skills and structured work approach
  • Proficient computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
