Pension Specialist I

Kelly Services is currently seeking a full time Pension Specialist for one of our top clients in Minneapolis, MN!


Pay: $18-$20/hr.

Schedule: M-F 8a-5p


The Role

  • This position requires a passion for client/customer satisfaction as well as the desire to continually tackle new challenges.


Performance Objectives:


• Challenging and varied work that fosters continuous development of technical and administrative skills

• Develop a strong understanding of the Retirement line of business

• Maintain all deadlines and perform work with high accuracy

• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to different people and work assignments

• Assist in drafting simple routine administrative procedures and documentation

• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, including prioritizing work and coordinating several projects at one time

• Provide advanced level support in the full Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel

• Ensure quality control/proofreading/editing

• Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress


• Processes incoming and outgoing mail, coordinate mass mailings and simple word merges

• Prepare pension benefit packages in accordance with plan provisions and established procedures

• Prepare simple routine benefit calculations using established procedures

• Review payment election forms and enter individual payments and trust changes

• Perform data entry and process ongoing data change requests

• Assists in workflow management by entering requests in the system (or other tracking application) and assigning work to appropriate team members

• Gather information for pension calculations


The Requirements:

• Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and customer service skills

• Strong organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work and coordinating several projects at one time

• Ability to take full ownership of assigned work

• The innate desire to produce high-quality work and earn respect

• Flexibility: able to adapt to different people and work assignments

• A strong focus on detail and accuracy of work

• A learning orientation

• Strong interpersonal and project/time management skills

• Ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing

• Strong technical aptitude

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Microsoft certification a plus

• 1-5 years’ experience in a professional services environment

• Experience providing administrative support to multiple parties simultaneously

• Bachelor’s degree a plus
