Health and Safety Specialist

Kelly Services is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist for one of our top companies in the Houston, Texas area, who is a leading global provider of specialty catalysts, materials, chemicals.


  • Facilitate and support Health and Safety activities and initiatives at the Houston and Baytown plants.
  • Lead, support, promote, improve, and enforce compliance, all H&S, corporate/plant policies, procedures performance standards and ISO/RC 14001 and PQ 20 Principles.
  • Maintain employee interest, involvement and support in all aspects of site health and safety programs.
  • Follow Cardinal Safety Rules.
  • Recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures
  • Prepare/Deliver/Attend monthly safety meeting.
  • Assist area leadership in the completion of process safety action items.
  • Be a visible presence onsite to promote good health and safety practices and reduce risks.
  • Active involvement in Natural Disaster and Emergency Preparedness
  • Provide monthly and quarterly safety reporting internally (plant site & PQ) and externally as required.
  • Maintain and upload the Preventative Ratio metrics each month. 

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years' manufacturing experience (chemical industry preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Health and Safety (or equivalent is required)
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations relative to Health and Safety (US-OSHA PSM 1910)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices (ASSE, NFPA, ANSI, FM, etc.)
  • SAP experience preferred
