Kelly Services is seeking an IT Senior Advisor for one of our top clients in Houston, Texas.


Length: 02/03/2020 to 08/02/2020 (Contract W2)

Pay Rate: $negotiable/hr. (W2)


The WM Sustainment Sr Advisor will monitor work processes to ensure WM efficiencies, regulatory compliance, governance and process standardization across Pipeline Integrity, Facility Operations, Codes and Specifications, GIS, Compliance Data Systems, and Information Services functions.

Drives and implements Work Management governance capabilities and processes across the enterprise. Provides strategy and leadership for Work Management processes, within various WM/ERP systems, while ensuring high levels of quality, integrity, governance, and value


This role, is responsible for providing technical and functional support for users of the WM solution (currently SAP PM and @hand Mobile PC). The Sr Advisor position is charged with maintaining system functionality and recommending system changes and enhancements when considered necessary.

The Sr Advisor will act as liaison between system users, business owners, and TIS to report, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. Works within a team environment but acts independently as needed. Develops relationships with a wide array of stakeholders to understand their respective business requirements, such as planners/schedulers, operations techs and leaders, compliance, one call team, and other WM professionals to provide effective WM support.


  • Provides daily work direction to Analysts and Advisors as needed.
  • Direct communication with the necessary business groups and services throughout the organization in order to sustain system functionality, business processes, and execution
  • Direct engagement with necessary business services throughout the organization in order to sustain system and business expectations, system functionality and organizational goals
  • Interaction with all clients necessary to achieve organization goals by delivering business solutions, identifying critical path of completion, and identifying/minimizing organizational risk
  • Serves on local/regional WM councils, user groups, industry committees, and stays abreast of leading technologies, WM best practices, taxonomy standards, and emerging opportunities.
  • Leads development and presentation of procedures and training for WM related data and systems
  • Ensure Master Data changes (additions, deletions, updates, etc.) are managed consistently across the organization and adhere to governance standards
  • Develop and/or enhance system reports.
  • Analyze/present system reports to determine corrective action.
  • Utilize system reports to support internal and external audits.
  • Respond to “real time” field user requests and general SAP/Maximo and Mobile PC navigation:
  • New user set-up and troubleshooting Mobile PC issues
  • Assisting supervisors assigning orders and managing work centers
  • Resolving and monitoring the Error Queue
  • Setting up ORGSTR and KPI for Supervisors and Area Managers, as well as Control Panel variants
  • Help desk and resolution of tickets
  • Work with the Planner/Scheduler role to ensure a consistent and uniform work process exists for the Areas and Regions.
  • Respond to user/system requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Provide daily support to users of WM Solution and Mobile Software tools.
  • Conduct system testing to ensure proper performance/functionality and for system enhancements/upgrades.
  • Coordinate bug fixes with user community, TIS, and software vendors.
  • Support and/or present training to users on SAP PM/Maximo, Mobile Solution Software, and system changes/enhancements.
  • M4 Notification requests that require administrative work. These include but are not limited to Functional Locations, Equipment, Maintenance Plans & Items, Task Lists, Work Centers and Work Orders
  • Coordinate administrative changes in regulatory compliance, SOP and safety procedures to ensure these changes are reflected in the WM Solution.
  • Provide technical expertise needed to sustain the WM solution.
  • Position requires extraordinary analytical skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Decisions made in this position have a significant impact on operations, safety, regulatory compliance, and risk of financial/operational penalties. Thinks innovatively and strategically. Communicates and influences effectively. Manages diverse relationships. Independently leads WM initiatives, backing up or sitting in for Sustainment & Support Supervisor as needed.
  • This position works directly with Work Management Data Team, Transmission Services, Field Operations and OneCallTeam to provide guidance and direction regarding business issues and requirements for Work Management. This position provides expert technical consultation and leadership within the Company and is recognized as an expert in own area within the organization. This position provides technical assistance to Work Management leadership and support personnel, as well as to the Planner/Scheduler, and has the objective of maintaining/enhancing the data structure, training, and audit support within the Work Management solution. The WM Sr Advisor assists in the many facets of the Work Management solution, including day-to-day operations, future planning and supporting project activities.


Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 10 years of WM experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry
  • Deep understanding and experience with leading Work Management practices and techniques, including system configuration specifications and developing equipment hierarchies
  • Expertise in WM system/user support
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite, applicable WM systems and internet)
  • Capable of effectively managing time/WM tasks, and independently leading special projects as assigned


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in relative academic fields
  • Demonstrated expertise working with various databases, WM Solution and Mobile software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written communications.
  • Ability to lead WM related transformation projects
  • Solid project management skills
  • Capable of effectively collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, from field locations to executive management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally with proficiency in clarity of the message, listening skills, adapting the message to different groups, and influencing others when necessary.
  • Competency in human relations, influencing and listening skills, along with flexibility in support of interactions with all levels of employees and management.
  • Work effectively across multiple cross-functional groups to achieve work targets and goals.
  • Demonstrated competencies in project organization, management, direction, and completion.
  • Ability to work across a number of projects at once working within scheduling and budget targets.
  • Established competency utilizing analytical skills to reach logical conclusions.


Gas Transmission/Operations Foundation

  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Pipeline field operations
    • Industry regulations and requirements
    • Industry/ISO standards
    • Facility drawings
    • Operational procedures and guidelines


Work Management Foundation

  • Expertise in WM project-related systems (e.g., WM Solution, Mobile Software, various related databases) or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
  • Ability to navigate and understand WM systems.
  • Participates in WM/ERP transformation initiatives providing subject matter expertise and support
  • Strong working knowledge of Asset Structure, Asset Functionality, Asset Purpose, WM best practices and processes
