Senior AMD Scientist, San Diego, CA

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior AMD Scientist will be responsible for development and pre-qualification of a wide range of large molecule focused ELISA based bioassays within the Analytical Method Development (AMD) group. This position is a hands-on, at the bench role and requires an extensive skillset and knowledge base to enable the successful applicant to operate in a largely independent manner.

Essential Duties:

  • Development and/or tech transfer of robust and reproducible quantitative binding ELISAs for a wide spectrum of large molecules and targets.
  • Method pre-qualification, drafting of analytical test methods/qualification protocols and ensuring seamless method transfer to the QC laboratory.
  • Specification and acquisition of critical reagents to ensure rapid method establishment, optimization and timely development.
  • Serving as bioassay SME with ability to manage multiple projects and provide regular internal and external progress updates.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) with 10+ years, MS with 5+ years or PhD with 2 to 5 years experience post degree (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology) experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of independent decision making in areas related to bioassay design, experimental planning, experimental execution and documentation.
  • Knowledge of biochemical theories, applications and relevant techniques supplemented with a basic understanding of standard industry practice and approaches.
  • Experience working with plate readers and plate washers with knowledge of BioTek equipment and software a strong plus.
  • Experience with preparing development reports, qualification/validation protocols, qualification/validation reports and SOPs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of USP, EP and ICH guidelines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient with Microsoft Office software
