Research Associate II, San Diego, CA

Position Type: 6-months with potential to extend

Pay Rate: $19-21/hr (depending on experience)

Research Associate II is responsible for designing and performing experiments while collaborating and communicating effectively.

Job Duties

  • Special Project – virus related infectious disease
  • Must have ability to analyze results & develop solutions
  • Performs moderately complex experiments with input from supervisor.
  • Understands experimental goal and exhibits critical thinking skills when evaluating data.
  • Is able to analyze experimental data with minimal input from supervisor.
  • Interprets experimental results in context of overall experimental goal.
  • May provide input to follow up experiment designs
  • May present data in group meetings.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with peers and supervisors.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a regulated lab or GMP experience, preferred
  • Solid ASSAY development understanding & testing
  • Ability to perform independent research
  • Project management skills important
  • Problem solving
  • Creative solution development
  • Shows reliability and commitment among manager and peers
  • Exhibits focus and determination in tasks at hand

  • Hep B Notification Required

Education Required

  • BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field
  • Minimum degree:  Bachelors in Life Sciences (Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, etc.)
  • 1-3 years post-baccalaureate laboratory experience in academia or industry
  • 1-year industry experience post MS without thesis or MS with thesis.
