Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Provide veterinary assistance in preparing for and conducting survival, non-survival (acute), and inanimate (including cadaver) labs in Preclinical Operations.
Ensure that lab areas, including surgical suites and surgical support areas, are set-up and supplied with appropriate instrumentation and lab equipment.
Ensure that lab areas, including surgical suites and support areas, are restored to proper order at the conclusion of labs. This may include appropriately disposing of single-use items, putting away lab equipment, and washing reusable instrumentation.
Adherence to research protocol guidelines for survival and acute lab procedures.
Maintain lab and instrumentation sterility in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.
Ensure proper documentation and record keeping in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.
Maintain inventory of instrumentation, supplies, and equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.
Quality-check (QC) appropriate documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.
Participate in required annual health surveillance program (including the completion of blood-borne pathogen training and respirator fit testing).
Participate in quarterly audit sweeps to maintain regulatory and departmental compliance.
Receive schedule assignments from Study Coordinator and identifies gaps and proactively notifies management of conflicts.
Communicate personnel issue escalation through KOCG Management.
Assist in Surgical Suite operations as needed
Assist the Pathology Technician in the handling of test samples
Assist the Vivarium facility as needed.
Must have previous animal handling/care experience
Education:High school diploma or GED required.
Candidates with Animal Care Technologies (ACT) Certification, Veterinary Assisting Certification, or an Associate’s degree from an accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and math skills.
Ability to consistently follow directions and work under pressure.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be a proficiency user of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
