Laser Operator / Production Worker

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation
of laser cutting machines.
Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on laser machines.
Operators must be able to read mechanical drawings, understand standard and metric dimensions on drawings.
Must be able to regulate and set-up equipment.
Load programs and tools as authorized to ensure operation.
Load and unload machines.
Stage raw materials at each work-center for the day-s production.
Maintain daily dust collector service and associated logbook in assigned area and
report equipment deficiencies.
Assist in loading and unloading team members- machines when production
requires additional manpower to maintain throughput.
Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in
accordance with company standards and manufactures machine
Three or more years experience operating laser machines.
High school graduate with work experience in laser cutting field.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
Desire to learn new skills.
Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed.
Ability to work well in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 35 lbs. and over
Safety Glasses required at all times on plant floor
Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
