Process Automation SIS Engineer / Coach

Role Description

  • Lead the implementation of distributed control system (DCS) and Safety Instrument System (SIS) for a greenfield world scale ethylene glycol plant.
  • Provide Process Automation leadership, oversight, and guidance for timely project execution and site operability. 
  • Provide oversight for 2 Owner Process Automation Engineers.


  • Honeywell Experion C-300 and  Honeywell Safety Manager


  • Lead technical execution of project, including process control design, configuration, coding, testing, installation, commissioning, and start-up of project
  • Participate in project cost and schedule development and monitoring
  • Participate and lead project reviews and Management of Change process
  • Manages the work of the Project EPCm Process Automation resources
  • Lead integration of Process Automation between contractors and suppliers to assure seamless operation of Process Automation across the boundaries of the on-site plants and across the fence-line for off-site plants.
  • Provide daily oversight on all Process Automation activities and intervene as needed.
  • Ensure high quality Detailed Design Specification documents from Honeywell
  • Work with EPCm to develop and execute Acceptance Test Plan and Test procedures
  • Review all configuration typical from Honeywell
  • Coordinate with manufacturing representatives and EPCm to complete control logic and narratives
  • Coordinate vendor training for operations and engineers
  • Participate at vendor weekly technical and project schedule update meetings.
  • Identify gaps within the EPCm daily work process and help streamline the process.
  • Provide Close scrutiny on EPCm SIS work process and deliverables.
  • Provide coaching to owner’s Process Automation practitioners on the team
  • Facilitate owner/EPCm weekly meeting
  • Provide expertise for the safe and efficient transition of project to operations



  • Extensive experience in a senior process control engineering role, including:
    • Leading design and implementation projects
    • Design, testing, installation, commissioning, and project start-up
    • Development of process control strategies and applications
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise of both hardware and software aspects of process control systems (Honeywell Experion and Safety Manager)
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivation and high initiative
  • Legally authorized to work in United States
